- Defective Ignition Wire
- Improper Operation of
Magneto Breaker Points
- Defective Magneto Switch
- Grounded Magneto Leads
- Spark Plugs Fouled
- Improper Use of Starting
Procedures
- Fuel Tank Empty
- Engine Flooded
- Water in Fuel System
- Fuel Contamination
- Weak Battery
- Bad Connection, Cable, or
Solenoid
- Starter Damaged By Engine
Kicking Back
- Voltage Not Getting To
Starter
- Starter Solenoid Defective
- Stuck Starter Solenoid

REMEDY
- Check with Electrical Tester
- Replace Any Defective Wires
- Clean Points
- Check Internal Timing of
Magnetos
- Check Continuity
- Repair or Replace Switch or
Leads
- Remove, Clean, and Re-gap
(0.016 -0.021) or Replace
- Review Starting Procedures.
(Refer to POH)
- Inspect and Fill Tank
- Advance Throttle to Full
OPEN
- Retard Mixture Control to Idle
- Cut Off and Crank Engine to
Clear Cylinders and Excess
Fuel
- Sample Fuel
- Drain if Water is Present
- Drain
- Flush Fuel System
- Charge Battery
- Test
- Replace, If Necessary
