DISPLAY
CAUSE
a. The test strip was touched
against the blood drop too
soon.
b. The optical system is dirty.
c. The test strip is unusable.
d. The meter was turned off and
on again. The strip is still in
the meter.
e. The test strip was forcibly
removed during testing.
f. The strip was bent during
contact with blood or controls,
or during measurement.
g. The test strips are too old.
The blood sugar result may be
above the high end of the meter's
reading range.

ACTION
a. Turn the meter off, then back on again. Repeat the
test. Wait until the hand symbol has appeared in the
display before touching the test strip against the blood
drop or control solution drop.
b. Clean the optical system and repeat the test (see page
88, Cleaning the meter ).
c. Repeat the test with a new test strip.
d. Hold the meter straight up and down and let the strip
drop out. Or remove the strip manually, even if it takes
a small amount of force.
e. Repeat the test, this time releasing the strip by means
of the
TEST button.
f. Repeat the test with a new strip.
g. Discard the old test drum. Insert a new test drum.
