Understanding Your Control Results

Both the Accu-Chek Compact
and the control value insert indicate the acceptable
ranges for Low Level and High Level control solu-

If the result is not within the acceptable range:
• Check the expiration date of the test drum and control
solutions. If the test drum or control solutions are
expired, dispose of them promptly.
• Make sure that the 90-day use-by period for the test
drum has not been exceeded.
• Make sure that you used the correct control solution.
• Make sure that the optical system is clean.
• Make sure that you performed the test within the
correct temperature range +50° F to +104° F
(+10° C to +40° C).
• Make sure that the cap was placed tightly on the test
drum vial and control solutions. The test drums and
control solutions can be damaged when they are not
capped and stored properly.
• Make sure that you followed the testing steps exactly.
• Repeat the control test with a new test strip.
