Configure WPA, WPA2, or WPA + WPA2

Both WPA and WPA2 provide strong data security. WPA2 with AES is a hardware
implementation. If you want to use WPA2 security, make sure that all devices in your WiFi
network support WPA2 security. If you are not sure, use WPA + WPA2 security.
Note:
WPA-PSK [TKIP] security supports speeds of up to 54 Mbps. Even if
your devices are capable of a higher speed, WPA-PSK [TKIP] security
limits their speed to 54 Mbps. NETGEAR recommends that you use
WPA2-PSK security, which supports the maximum speed that your
devices are capable of.
The process to configure WPA, WPA2, or WPA + WPA2 security is the same for the 2.4 GHz
and 5 GHz bands.
To configure WPA, WPA2, or WPA + WPA2 in the extender:
1.
On your computer, launch an Internet browser such as Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft
Internet Explorer.
2.
In the address field of your browser, enter www.mywifiext.net.
You are prompted to enter a user name and password.
3.
Type admin for the user name and type your password.
If you have not yet personalized your password, type password for the password.
4.
Select Settings > Wireless.
5.
Scroll down to either the Security Options (2.4GHz) section (shown in the previous figure) or
the Security Options (5GHz) section and select the WPA-PSK [TKIP], WPA2-PSK [AES], or
WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES] radio button.
