Disposing of your meter

During blood glucose testing the meter itself may come into contact
with blood. Used meters therefore carry a risk of infection. Please dis-
pose of your used meter - after removing the battery - according to the
regulations applicable in your country. For information about correct
disposal please contact your local council.
The meter does not fall within the scope of European Directive 2002/96/
EC (WEEE – Waste electrical and electronic equipment).

Use only Accu-Chek Compact test strips for testing with the Accu-Chek
Compact Plus meter. These are available from your pharmacist.
Only Accu-Chek Compact Control and Accu-Chek Compact Autocontrol
solutions may be used for quality control checking of your Accu-Chek
Compact Plus meter and Accu-Chek Compact test strips (see Chapter
6).
Only use Accu-Chek Softclix lancets in your Accu-Chek Softclix Plus
finger pricker. These are available in various pack sizes.
If you wish to remove the finger pricker permanently from the meter,
it is possible to insert a blanking plate where the finger pricker would
normally be. You can order this blanking plate from your local customer
support and service centre.
If you wish to test blood from alternative sites, you can order a special
AST cap for your Accu-Chek Softclix Plus finger pricker from the
Accu-Chek Customer Careline.
