10.2 Display messages and troubleshooting

When elements in the display are surrounded by a halo, it indicates that
they are flashing in the meter's display.
If you receive frequent error messages, please contact the Accu-Chek
Customer Careline (see Chapter 16 "Local customer support and
service").
If this happens ...
it means:
The meter will not turn on.

The batteries (normal or recharge-
able) are empty. Insert batteries
(new or recharged).
You inserted the batteries the wrong
way round. Remove the batter-
ies and place them in the battery
compartment as instructed. If the
batteries were left the wrong way
round in the meter for more than two
minutes, the meter forgets the year,
date and time. Re-enter them (see
Chapters 3 "Settings").
Symbols, display messages and troubleshooting
If this happens ...

The meter is turned on, but
the display is blank.

Symbols, display messages and troubleshooting
it means:
The surrounding temperature is
below 0 °C. Change location. The
temperature must be between
+10 °C and +40 °C. Allow the meter
to warm up slowly.
Condensation has affected the elec-
tronics. Let the meter dry slowly.
The meter is defective. Please con-
tact the Accu-Chek Customer Care-
line (see Chapter 16 "Local customer
support and service").
The display is defective. Please contact
the Accu-Chek Customer Careline (see
Chapter 16 "Local customer support and
service").
