  • Page 59 Turn the computer right-side, up and open the display panel to a 90-degree angle. Then position the computer so that the display is its base and the keyboard is in the upright position. On the bottom of the computer, press in on the keyboard release tabs. Return the computer to its upright position.

Carefully release the zero insertion force (ZIF) connector (1) to which the keyboard cable is attached, and then disconnect the keyboard cable (2) from the system board. Failure to support the display assembly can result in damage to the display assembly and other computer components. Remove the display hinge cover (2). Release the hinges by removing the six Phillips PM2.5x5.0 screws 1 that secure it to the base enclosure.
  • Page 67 If it is necessary to replace the display bezel or any of the display assembly internal components: Remove the two rubber screw covers (1) and the two Phillips 2.0×5.0 screws (2) that secure the display bezel to the display assembly. Flex the inside edges of the top (1), the left and right sides (2), and the bottom (3) of the display bezel until the bezel disengages from the display enclosure.
  • Page 68 Remove the panel (2) from the enclosure. If it is necessary to replace the display hinges, remove the six Phillips 2.5x3.0 screws (1), and then slide the hinges (2) outward from the panel. If it is necessary to replace the display panel cable: Turn the display panel upside down, with the bottom edge toward you.
  • Page 69 Disconnect the display panel cable (2) from the connector on the back of the display panel. The display panel cable is available using the spare part number 611216-001. Reverse the procedure to replace the display cable. If it is necessary to replace the webcam, which is spared as 611217-001 and includes the cable: Place the panel enclosure flat on the table with the webcam furthest away from you.
