    Installing the telephone base Given the length of the cables, you must install the telephone base within two meters of an electrical outlet and a telephone wall jack. The telephone base should also be placed at least one meter away from other electrical appliances in order to avoid interference. The handset exchanges radio signals with the telephone base.
