If your range has this control pad, it has a self-cleaning
oven. Follow these
instructions.
If not,referto the Porcelain O ven Cleaning section for ovencleaning instructions.
Wipe up heavy soil on the oven
bottom.
Before
a
Self-Clean Cycle
We recommend venting your kitchen with an
open window or using a ventilation fan or hood
during the first self-clean cycle.
Remove broiler pan, broiler grid, all cookware
and any aluminum foil from the oven.
NOTE:
If your oven is equipped with shiny, silver-
colored oven racks, we recommend to
remove them before you begin the self-clean
cycle. They may remain in the oven during
the self-clean cycle, but they will darken, lose
their luster and become hard to slide.
_, If your oven is equipped with gray porcelain-
coated oven racks, they may be left in the
oven during the self-clean cycle.
Soilon the front frame of the range and outside
the gasketon the door will need to be cleaned
by hand.Cleanthese areaswith hot water,
soap-filled or plasticscouring pads or cleansers
such as Soft Scrub _.Rinsewell with cleanwater
and dry.
Do not clean the gasket. The fiberglass material
of the oven door gasket cannot withstand
abrasion. It is essential for the gasket to remain
intact. If you notice it becoming worn or frayed,
replace it.
Make sure the oven light bulb cover is in place
and the oven light is off.
IMPORTANT: T hehealth of some birds is
extremely sensitiveto the fumes given off during
the self-cleaningcycle of any range.Move birds
to another well-ventilated room.

How to Set the Oven for
Self-Cleaning
Follow the directions in the Before a Self Clean
Cyclesection.

Latch the door.
NOTE:Never force the latch. If the oven is too
hot, you will not be able to slide the latch. Allow
the oven to cool.
[-_ Touch the Self Clean pad.
[-_ Touch the + or - pads until the desired
CleanTime is displayed.
The Clean Time is normally 4 hours and 20
minutes. You can change the CleanTime to
any time between 3 and 5 hours, depending on
the amount of soil in your oven.
[-_ Touch the Start/On pad.
The self-clean cycle will automatically begin
and the time countdown appears in the
display.
While the oven is self-cleaning, you can touch
the Clock pad to display the time of day. To
return to the clean countdown, touch the Self
Clean pad.
The oven shuts off automatically when the
clean cycle is complete, and 0:00 will flash in
the display.

Slidethe latch handle to the left as far as it
will go and open the door.
Never force the latch handle.
Forcing the handle will damage the door lock
mechanism.
