the trade,sides
of the left and right grates
are marked
"I,EFT FRONT"
and "RIGHT
FRONT."
Make sm'e the front
portion

both grates is in fl'ont. The middle
grate
has a bow in fl'ont. Make sm'e the bowed
l)ortion is toward
the fl'ont of the range.
Cleaning
Lift out when cool. Grates should
be
washed regularly
and, of coui_e, after
sl)illove_.
_,_ash them
in hot, seal) )' water
and rinse with clean water; _,_]_en replacing
the grates, be sure they are positioned
securely
over the burnei_.
]).el)lace the
grates so that continuous
arcs are fl)mled
with the center
ribs of ;all three grates.
Do not operate
a burner
fl)r an extended
period
of time without
cookware
on the
grate. The finish on the grate may chip
without
cookware
to absorb
the heat.
To get rid of bm'ned-on
t0od,
place tile
grates in a covered
containe_:
Add l/4
cup
ammonia
and let them soak several hom_
or overnight.

rinse well and dry:
_Mthough
they are durable,
the grates
will gradually
lose their shine, regardless
of the best care you can give them. This
is due to their continual
exposure
to high
temperatures.
You will notice
this sooner
with lighter
color grates.
NOTE'. Donot clean the grates in a self-cleanlbg
oven.
Cooktop Surface
To avoid damaging
the porcelain
enamel
surfiace of the cooktop
;rod to prevent
it
from
becoming
dull, clean up spills right
away. Foods with a lot of acid (tomatoes,
sauerkraut,
fi'uitjuices,
etc.) or toods with
high sugar content
could Catlse a dull spot
if all()wed to set.
When
the sm'fiace has cooled,
wash and
rinse. For other
spills such as fiat spatterings,
etc., wash with soap and water once the
sm'fiace has cooled.
Then
rinse and polish
with a (h_' cloth.
NOTE."Donot store flammable materials in
an oven,drawer or near the cooktop.Do not
store or use combustiblematerials, gasollbe or
other flammable vaporsand fl)uids in the wcinity
of this or any other apphance.
NOTE." Do not lift the cooktop.Liftlbg the cooktop
can lead to damageand improper operatlbnof the
range.
Stainless Steel Surfaces (on some models)
Do not usea steel woolpad;it will scratch
thesurface.
To clean
the
stainless
steel
sm-fiace,
use warn/suds)'
water
or a stainless
steel
cleaner
or polish.

the surfhce
in the
direction
of the
grain.
