[] CHECK IGNITION OF SURFACE
BURNERS
Operation of all cooktop and oven burners should be
checked after the range and gas SUl)l)ly lines have been
carefllllv checked for leaks.
Electric Ignition Models
Select a top burner knob and simultaneously push
in and mrn to L1TE
position.
You will hear a
clicking
sound indicating proper operation of the spark
module. Once the air has been purged fl'oln the
sui)ply lines, burners should light within 4 seconds.
After burner lights, rotate knob out of the L1TE
position. Try each burner in succession until all
burners have been checked.
Quality of Flames
The combustion quality of burner flames needs to be
determined visually.
(A) Yellow flames--
Call for service
(B) Yellow tips on
outer cones--
Normal for LP gas
(C) Soft blue
flames--Normal for
natural gas
If burner flames look like (A), call for service. Normal
burner flmnes should look like (B) or (C), depending
on the type of gas you use.
With I,P gas, some yellow til)ping on outer cones
is nornml.
[] CHECK IGNITION OF OVEN BURNER
The oven is designed to oi)erate quietly and automatically..
To oi)erate the o_en, i)ress the BAKE pad and then press the
number pads until 350 ° al)l)ears in tile display. Touch tile
START pad. A/ter 30-90 seconds, the oven burner will ignite
and burn until the set temt)eramre is reached. The men
burner will continue to cycle on and off as necessary to
maintain the oven at the temperature indicated b} ihe displa}.
To check ignition of tile broil burneL touch the BROIL
HI/LO pad and then the START pad. ,\tter 30-90 seconds,
the broil burner will ignite.
Electric ignition models reqtfire electrical power to oi)erate.
Ill case of a t)ower outage, the o_en burners on these models
cannot be lit maimallv with a match. (',as will not flow unless
the glow bar is hot.
If tile oven is ill use when a power outage occurs, the burner
will shut off and caimot be re-lit until power is restored.
