Armada Station
The computer can be secured to the ArmadaStation, and the devices in the
ArmadaStation and computer can be secured in place by a locking switch. In addition,
the ArmadaStation itself can be secured to a more permanent fixture.
NOTE: Both the ArmadaStation and the computer must be functional before either can
be put in a locked state.
MultiBay Devices
The MultiBay devices can be locked in the desktop expansion base and in the
computer. The MultiBay (and hard drive) can be secured in the desktop expansion base
even if the desktop expansion base is in an unlocked state with respect to the computer.
The user can not remove the device in the computer MultiBay until it is undocked.
However, the media is removable from any device (i.e. the user can not exchange the
CD ROM drive with a different drive, but the CD platter can be ejected and replaced
with a different CD platter).
PC Card Slots
PC Card slots in the desktop expansion base support 32-bit CardBus and 16-bit PC
Cards and provide protection for the PC Cards when the computer is docked. The user
is able to "lock" PC Cards into the PC Card slots in the desktop expansion base. It is
understood that if a card (or cable) extends from the slot that the card can be forced
from the slot.
If the card is completely contained within the slot, a dust cover or slide will cover the
entire slot and card. The slide or "dust cover" will not lock or provide any type of
security for the cards.
The mechanical lock and eject mechanism provides a post that slips over the end of the
PC Card while in the desktop expansion base.
