Change the fragmentation length, CTS/RTS threshold, or
preamble mode for a radio
For most WiFi networks, the default fragmentation length, CTS/RTS threshold and
preamble mode work fine and we recommend that you do not change the settings. (In
general, these settings are intended for WiFi testing.)
CAUTION:
We recommend that you do not change these settings unless
directed by NETGEAR support or unless you are sure what the consequences
are. Incorrect settings might disable the WiFi function of a radio unexpectedly.
NOTE: If the Smart Connect feature is enabled, the fragmentation length,
CTS/RTS threshold, and preamble mode for the 2.4 GHz radio, 5 GHz radio,
and 6 GHz radio are combined. That means that you cannot change these
settings for the 2.4 GHz radio, 5 GHz radio, or 6 GHz radio individually.
To change the fragmentation length, CTS/RTS threshold, or preamble mode for a
radio:
1. Launch a web browser from a computer or mobile device that is connected to the
router network.
2. Enter http://www.routerlogin.net.
A login window displays.
3. Enter the router admin user name and password.
The user name is admin. The password is the one that you specified when you set
up your router. The user name and password are case-sensitive.
The BASIC Home page displays.
4. Select ADVANCED > Advanced Setup > Wireless Settings.
The Advanced Wireless Settings page displays.
5. In the Fragmentation Length (256-2346) field for a radio, enter a value from 256
to 2436.
The default value is 2346.
6. In the CTS/RTS threshold (1-2347) field for a radio, enter a value from 1 to 2437.
