Did you know...
Presario Notebooks have
power-saving features that
protect your data and conserve
battery and monitor life.
Congratulations! You are no longer a "new user". Now you
know how to use some of the fun, basic functions of your new
Presario Notebook computer, like surfing the Web. Now, it's
time to learn about some advanced features, such as power
management, Hibernation and Sleep modes.
This section explains the following:
Understanding Power Management
Starting and Ending Power Modes
Power Management Settings
Changing Power Management Settings
Power management lets you reduce your Notebook power
consumption. Your Notebook has two power
management modes:
Hibernation saves information to the hard drive and then
turns off your Notebook. Your Notebook hibernates when
the Power button is pressed, when the battery has little
power left, or when your Notebook (operating on battery
power) is in Sleep mode for more than one hour.
Sleep, also called Standby, puts your Notebook in low-power
mode. It is still on, but the display appears blank.
