Universal Serial Bus (USB) is a hardware interface that can be
used to connect an optional external device, such as a USB
keyboard, mouse, drive, printer, scanner, or hub, to the computer
or to an optional docking device. A hub provides additional USB
ports for the system and can be connected to the computer or to
another hub.
This computer has one powered USB port and 2 standard USB
ports that support USB 1.0, USB 1.1, and USB 2.0 devices.
The powered USB port (on the right side of the computer)
provides power to external devices when used with a powered
USB cable.
The other 2 USB ports do not provide power. External
high-power devices connected to the USB ports that do not
provide power must also be connected to AC power. Low
power devices such as USB keyboards, mouse devices, and
webcams do not require an AC power connection when
connected to the 2 USB ports that do not provide power.
An optional docking device provides additional USB ports that
can be used with the computer.
