Heat sink

NOTE:
The heat sink spare part kit includes replacement thermal material.
Description
For use only with HP Compaq 6535s Notebook PC models
For use only with HP Compaq 6531s Notebook PC models
For use only with HP Compaq 6530s Notebook PC models
Before removing the heat sink, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and
then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.

Switch cover (see

Speakers (see

Display assembly (see

Top cover (see

System board (see
Remove the heat sink:
NOTE:
Steps 1 through 3 apply only to HP Compaq 6531s Notebook PC models. See steps 4 through
6 for removing the heat sink on HP Compaq 6530s Notebook PC models. See steps 7 through 9 for
removing the heat sink on HP Compaq 6535s Notebook PC models.
1.
Turn the system board upside down, with the audio connectors toward you.
2.
Following the 1, 2, 3, 4 sequence stamped into the heat sink, loosen the four screws (1) around
the processor.
