Assigning Programmable Keys

To assign a program, document, or logo key to a programmable
key:
1. Open the Programmable Keys dialog box as described earlier
in this chapter.
2. Click the button next to the number of the programmable key
that you want to assign in the current scheme.
If you have never created a scheme, the default scheme
NOTE:
is current. To select a previously created scheme, click Show
Advanced Options, then select the scheme from the drop-
down list.
3. Click the Assign button or click the Browse button. (The
Browse button shows when the Show Advanced Options box
is checked.)
The Assign button displays a list of programs from the
Programs menu and the Windows logo keys.
The Browse button allows you to look in drives and folders
to find a program or document.
4. Highlight the program, document, or Logo key that you want
to assign and click OK. (The name and icon of the file you
selected appears next to the programmable key.)
5. Click Apply, or click OK to apply and close the dialog box.
When you press the programmable key, it activates the program,
document, or Logo key that you assigned to that key.

Unassigning Programmable Keys

To remove a programmable key assignment:
1. Open the Programmable Keys dialog box as described earlier
in this chapter.
2. Click the button next to the number of the programmable key
that you want to unassign in the current scheme.
If you have never created a scheme, the default scheme

is current. To select a previously created scheme, click Show
Advanced Options, then select the scheme from the drop-
down list.
