SolarEdge Monitoring Platform

The SolarEdge monitoring platform enables monitoring the technical and financial performance of one or
more SolarEdge sites. It provides past and present information on the system performance both at the
system and module levels.

Installation Procedure

The following is the procedure for installing and setting up a new SolarEdge site. Many of these also apply
to modification of an existing site.

It is recommended to connect communication connections (step 6 of this installation) before
connecting the AC, for easier access to the communication board.

Installation Equipment List

Standard tools can be used during the installation of the SolarEdge system. The following is a
recommendation of the equipment needed for installation:
Allen screwdriver for 5mm screw type for the inverter cover,Connection Unit c over, and inverter side

screws
Allen screwdriver for M5/M6/M8 screw types
l
17/32 H EX Allen screwdriver for AC stud connector
l
SolarEdge supplied level
l
Standard flat-head screwdrivers set
l
Non-contact voltage detector
l
Cordless drill or screwdriver and bits suitable for the surface on which the inverter will be installed.
l
Use of an impact driver is not recommended.
Appropriate mounting hardware ( for example: stainless bolts, nuts, and washers) for attaching:
l
the Primary and Secondary Unit(s) mounting brackets to the mounting surface
o
the power optimizers to the racking (not required for smart modules)
o
MC4 crimper
l
4xM8 ring terminals and a suitable crimper
l
Wire cutters
l
Wire strippers
l
Voltmeter
l
For installing the communication options, you may also need the following:
For Ethernet:
l
CAT5/6 twisted pair Ethernet cable with RJ45 connector

If using a CAT5/6 cable spool: RJ45 plug and RJ45 crimper
