SPARK PLUGS

(1) REMOVAL

(a) Remove spark plug caps.
(b) Remove the spark plugs.

(2) INSPECTION

(a) Inspect the firing end of the spark plugs for any foreign material lodged between
electrodes or around the insulator that could be conductive. Clean as needed.
(b) Check the electrode gap. It should be between .032-.040. Re-set if necessary.
(c) Check connector for any abnormalities and clean if needed.

(3) INSTALLATION

(a) Apply a small amount of Spark Plug Thread Lubricant (Refer to Section 6.2.3) to
the threaded area of each spark plug at the firing end. Install the plugs and
torque to 15 ft/lb.
(b) Connect the spark plug caps.
