    Exposure can be minimized by venting with an open window or using a ventilation fan or hood. If you pull the range out from the wall for any reason, make sure the device is properly engaged when you push the range back against the wall.

    Do not attempt to repair or replace any part of your range unless it is specifically recommended in this manual. All other servicing should be referred to a qualified technician.
  • Page 4 OVEN Stand away from the range when opening the oven door. Hot air or steam which escapes can cause burns to hands, face and/or eyes. Do not heat unopened food containers.
  • Page 5: Self-Cleaning Oven

    To minimize the possibility of burns, ignition of flammable materials and spillage, the handle of a container should be turned toward the center of the range without extending over nearby surface units. Always turn the surface units off before removing cookware.
  • Page 6 (on some models) Be sure the drip pans and the vent duct are not covered and are in place. Their absence during cooking could damage range parts and wiring. Do not use aluminum foil to line the drip pans or anywhere in the oven except as described in this manual.

    Using CircuWave ™ (on some models) www.GEAppliances.com When you set the oven for CircuWave, a convection fan circulates the hot oven air over and around the food. Because heated air is circulated throughout the oven, foods can be baked on 2 racks at a time.

    Using the clock and timer. To Set the Clock The clock must be set for the automatic oven timing functions to work properly. The time of day cannot be changed during a timed baking or self-cleaning cycle. Make sure the clock is set to the correct time of day.
  • Page 17 Using the timed baking and roasting features. (on some models) Do not latch the oven door during timed cooking. The latch is used for self-cleaning only. NOTE: Foods that spoil easily, such as milk, eggs, fish, stuffings, poultry and pork, should not be allowed to sit for more than 1 hour before or after cooking.

    Using the Sabbath Feature. (Designed for use on the Jewish Sabbath and Holidays.) The Sabbath feature can be used for baking/roasting only. It cannot be used for broiling, self-cleaning, or Delay Start cooking. NOTE: The oven light comes on automatically (on some models) when the door is opened and goes off when the door is closed.

    Adjust the oven thermostat—Easy to do yourself! You may find that your new oven cooks differently than the one it replaced. Use your new oven for a few weeks to become more familiar with it. If you still think your new oven is too hot or too cold, you can adjust the thermostat yourself. Do not use thermometers, such as those found in grocery stores, to check the temperature setting of your oven.

    Using the self-cleaning oven. Before a Clean Cycle The range must be completely cool in order to set the self-clean cycle. We recommend venting with an open window or using a ventilation fan or hood during the first self-clean cycle.

  • Page 22 CAUTION: Before replacing your oven light bulb, turn the oven light off and disconnect the electrical power to the range at the main fuse or circuit breaker panel. Be sure to let the light cover and bulb cool completely.
  • Page 23 Tilt up the front and remove it. To replace the storage drawer: Insert glides at the back of the drawer beyond the stop on range glides. Lift the drawer if necessary to insert easily. Let the front of the drawer down, then push in to close.

    Painted Surfaces Painted surfaces include the sides of the range and the sides of the door trim. To clean the painted surfaces, use a hot, damp cloth with a mild detergent suitable for these surfaces. Use a clean, hot, damp cloth to remove soap.

    Cleaning the glass cooktop. Normal Daily Use Cleaning ONLY use the recommended cleaning cream, Cerama Bryte®, on the glass cooktop. Other creams may not be as effective. To maintain and protect the surface of your glass cooktop, follow these steps: Before using the cooktop for the first time, clean it with the cooktop cleaning cream.

Remove the knockout ring (1 ⁄ ) located on bracket directly below the connector. To remove the knockout, use a pair of pliers to bend the knockout ring away from the bracket and twist until ring is removed.
