  • Page 6 Assembly All numbers in parenthesis () refer to the index number from the parts breakdown. 1. Attached the two base support sections (10) and lower cross member (9) to the left and right frame posts using bolts (11), washers (14), lock washers (13) and nuts (12). 2.
  • Page 7 3. Attach the upper alignment tubes (2) by inverting the tubes facing down. Then attach the alignment tubes under the upper crossbeam (1) using bolts (15), washer (16) and nuts (18) into the corresponding holes on the bottom side of the upper crossbeam. (THE UPPER ALIGNMENT TUBES WILL HAVE LARGER DIAMETER TUBING SLEEVES TO FIT OVER THE BOTTOM ALIGNMENT TUBES.) 4.
  • Page 8 5. Also before installing the jack press plate (19) attach the threaded eye bolts (21) with washers (16) and nuts (18). Be sure to only finger tighten nuts (18). 6. Attach the return springs (20) to the upper crossbeam (1). Then insert the jack press plate (19) as shown in the upright position so that the lower alignment tubes (8) will align with the upper alignment tubes (2).
  • Page 9 7. Carefully place 20 ton hydraulic bottle jack (22) into the space between the jack press plate (19) and upper crossbeam (1). Adjust the nuts (18) under the jack press plate into the proper position once jack (22) has been installed. 8.
  • Page 10 9. Verify that all bolts and screws have been tightened. 10. Insert the press adapter ram head (25) into the jack press plate (19) using bolt (15). 11. Place the bolster plates (17) onto the bed frame (23).
  • Page 11 12. With notched (or stamped) end of jack handle (54), close the release valve (50) by turning it clockwise until it is firmly closed and check for proper pump action. 13.   • Page 12 2. Pump handle (54) until the ram reaches maximum height and continue to pump several times to remove trapped air in the ram. 3. Turn release valve (50) counterclockwise to the open position one full turn and lower ram to the lowest position.
  • Page 13 4. Carefully and slowly pinch oil fill plug (36) to release trapped air. 5. Turn release valve (50) clockwise to the closed position and check for proper pump action. It may be necessary to perform the above step more than once to assume air is evacuated totally. 6.

    BEFORE USE 1. Before using this product, read the owner's manual completely and familiarize yourself thoroughly with the product and the hazards associated with its improper use. 2. Perform the air purge procedure. (See previous instructions for system purge procedure.) 3.
  • Page 15 3. Place work piece on the bed frame or pressing block, use every precaution necessary to ensure safety and to prevent accidents. Position work piece in a manner which will not allow it to inadvertently fall from the bed frame or pressing block. 4.
  • Page 16 5. Insert jack handle into handle socket and pump until ram nears work piece. Align ram and work piece to ensure center-loading. Apply load to work piece by pumping handle. Do not overload work piece. 6. Keep ram and work piece aligned to ensure center-loading. 7.

    MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS If you use and maintain your equipment properly, it will give you many years of service. Follow the maintenance instructions carefully to keep your equipment in good working condition. Never perform any maintenance on the equipment while it is under a load. Inspection You should inspect the product for damage, wear, broken or missing parts (e.g.: pins) and that all components function before each use.
  • Page 18 TO ADD JACK OIL: The hydraulic cylinder assembly contains hydraulic fluid that must be kept at approximately 80% full at all times for proper operation. To check the level and to fill remove oil filler plug. 1. Position the jack on level ground and lower the saddle. 2.
  • Page 19 4. Replace oil plug. 5. Perform the Air Purge Procedure. TO REPLACE JACK OIL: 1. Position the jack on level ground and lower the saddle. 2. Open release valve by turning handle counter-clockwise (4 full turns).
  • Page 20 3. Remove the oil fill plug. 4. Turn the jack on its side so that old oil will drain from the oil fill hole. Note: Dispose of hydraulic fluid in accordance with local regulations. 5. Position the jack on level ground and keep saddle in the lowered position.

    LUBRICATION A periodic coating of light lubricating oil to pivot points will help to ensure that pump pistons move freely. Note: Never apply oil to the saddle. If saddle extension threads require lubrication; clean thread surfaces with a clean, dry cloth, then apply a drop of bearing grease to the threads. Distribute as evenly as possible along the threaded post.
