4.4 NAMES AND FUNCTIONS OF THE
INDICATORS ON THE REMOTE
CONTROL DISPLAY.
Transmission indicator (1 Fig. 4-2): this indi-
cator flashes when the remote control is sending
the signal to the indoor unit.
Transmission indicator (2 Fig. 4-2): shows the
operating mode AUTO, COOL, DRY and HEAT.
HEAT can only be activated for heat pump units.
LOCK indicator (3 Fig. 4-2): activated when
the LOCK key is pressed. Press LOCK again to
deactivate the indication.
TIMER indicator (4 Fig. 4-2): this area shows the
time settings. If only the programmed on time
is set, the switching on time is displayed. If only
the programmed off time is set, the switching off
time is displayed. If the programmed on and off
times are activated, the fan coil's switching on
and off times will be displayed.
FAN indicator (5 Fig. 4-2): when the FAN key
is pressed, this indicator flashes.
Display area (6 Fig. 4-2): this area shows the set
temperature and the programmed on and/or off
times if activated.
Note: all of the items described generally apply.
4.5 USING THE REMOTE CONTROL
Fitting / Replacing the batteries.
The remote control requires 2 alkaline batteries.
To fit the batteries: remove the cover from the
back and put the batteries in with the poles facing
the right direction.
To replace the batteries: proceed in the same way.
Note: when replacing the batteries, do not use old
batteries as they could cause the remote control
to malfunction.
Note: take the batteries out if the remote control
is not used for several weeks, otherwise they
could run out and/or become damaged and make
the remote control unusable.
Note: the average life of the batteries is about
6 months.
Note: replace the batteries when no "Beep" is
emitted by the indoor unit afteran attempt is
made to send a command to it, or when there
are no indications on the remote control display.
Automatic operation.
When the fan coil is ready for use, turn it on and
make sure the indicators on the indoor unit's
display flash.
- Press "MODE" and select "AUTO" mode. In
Multi-Systems, the auto mode is set on cool-
ing to avoid mode conflict.
- Press "TEMP" to set the desired temperature.
For a comfortable temperature, set it between
21°C and 28°C.
- Press "ON/OFF" to turn the fan coil on. The
"OPERATION LED" on the indoor unit's
display will be on. The fan speed in AUTO
mode is automatically set and no indicator
on the central control display is active.
- Press "ON/OFF" again to turn the fan coil
off.
Note: in "AUTO" mode, the fan coil will select
the COOL, FAN, HEAT and DRY operating
mode in relation to the difference between the
temperature in the room and the temperature
set (or set-point).
Note: if "AUTO" mode does not provide enough
comfort, the desired mode can be selected
manually.
COOL, HEAT and FAN operation.
- If "AUTO" mode is not comfortable, a dif-
ferent mode can be selected by pressing
"MODE" and selecting COOL, DRY, HEAT
(only for heat pump models) or FAN.
- Press "TEMP" to select the desired tempera-
ture. In "COOLING" mode, select a temper-
ature no lower than 21°C for correct comfort.
In HEATING mode, the best comfort is ob-
tained with a temperature set at no higher
than 28°C.
- Press "FAN SPEED" to select the fan speed
AUTO, HIGH, MED or LOW.
- Press "ON/OFF". The "OPERATION LEDs"
on the fan coils' display will be lit up. Press
"ON/OFF" again to turn the fan coil or fan
coils on.
Note: the temperature cannot be set in "FAN
ONLY" mode. In this mode you can only use
"AUTO" mode or press "FAN SPEED" or "ON/
OFF".
Dehumidification.
- Press "MODE" and select "DRY".
- Press "TEMP" to set the desired temperature,
usually between 21°C and 28°C.
- Press "ON/OFF". The "OPERATION LEDs"
on the display of the fan coils switched on
in "DRY" mode will be on. Press "ON/OFF"
again to turn the fan coil or fan coils on.
Note: based on the difference between the set
temperature and the room temperature, when
the fan coil is in "DRY" mode, it will work auto-
matically without activating "COOL" mode and
"FAN" mode.
Programming the time.
Press the key to set the fan coil's on and off times.
• Switching on time.
- Press "CANCEL" to clear any other set-
tings.
- Press "TIMER". The remote control will
display "TIMER" and the "h" symbol. The
control is now ready for setting the fan
coil's on time.
- Press "TEMP" (
or ) to set the switch-
ing on time.
- When the time is set, 0.5 sec. will pass be-
fore the setting is transmitted to the fan
coil. Then, after about 2 sec., the temper-
ature will appear again on the remote con-
trol display.

• Switching off time.
- Press "CANCEL" to clear any other previ-
ous settings.
- Press "TIMER", the remote control will
display the last switching on time set and
the "h" symbol. The fan coil's switching off
time can now be set.
- Press "TEMP" ( or ) to clear the
"TIMER ON" time. "00" will be displayed.
- Press "TIMER" on the remote control and
the last programmed off time set and the
"h" symbol will be displayed. The desired
switching off time can now be reset.
- Press "TEMP" ( or ) to select the time
the fan coil is to be switched off.
- When the switching off time is set, 0.5 sec.
will pass before the setting is transmitted
to the fan coil. Then, after about 2 sec., the
set temperature will appear again on the
remote control display.
• Setting programmed on and off times.
- Press "CANCEL" to clear any other set-
tings.
- Press "TIMER" and the remote control
will set the switching on time and the "h"
symbol. The switching on time can now be
set.
- Press "TEMP" ( or ) to select the time
the fan coil is to be switched on.
- Press "TIMER" and the remote control
will display the last switching off time set
and the "h" symbol. You can now select the
time the fan coil is to be switched off.
- Press "TEMP" ( or ) to select the time
the fan coil is to be switched off.
- When the switching off time is set, 0.5 sec.
will pass before the setting is transmitted
to the fan coil. Then, after about 2 sec., the
set temperature will appear again on the
remote control display.
Note: reset the timer only after clearing the
previous settings.
Note: the time set is a relative time, i.e. based on
the current time.
