Component replacement procedures To remove and replace computer components, use these procedures.

    Close the computer and position it upside down, with the front toward you. Insert a tool with no sharp edges between the base enclosure and one end of the rubber feet. Peel the feet off the computer. To install the rubber feet, refit them on the adhesive backing. NOTE: The bottoms of the computer feet are ribbed.

    Remove the four Phillips M2.5 × 6.0 screws (1) in the feet area, and the two Phillips M2.5 × 4.0 screws (2) in the front part of the bottom cover. Use a thin plastic tool (1) to release the back cover. Work your way around prying to disengage the bottom cover from the computer, and then remove the cover (2).

    Remove the WLAN module by pulling the module away from the slot at an angle (3). NOTE: If the WLAN antennas are not connected to the terminals on the WLAN module, the protective sleeves must be installed on the antenna connectors, as shown in the following illustration.     Your password settings and security settings are not changed when you restore the factory settings. Updating the BIOS Updated versions of the BIOS might be available on the HP website. Most BIOS updates on the HP website are packaged in compressed files called SoftPaqs.
