Handling Outboards

When lifting outboards
If engine does not have fixed lifting bracket
and you use Universal Puller, P/N 378103,
and Lifting Eye, P/N 321537, or Lifting Eye
and Adapter Assembly, P/N 396748...
...use only the special
hardened screws and
washers from the set.
Outboard can
drop suddenly if
hoist or engine
stand are in poor
shape, or too
small for the job.
Make sure shop aids have extra capacity, and keep them in good repair.
Some outboards have a fixed lift bracket bolted to the powerhead.
Because outboard will want to hang like this when off the floor...
