Using DocsConnect, you can view, print, project or transmit data saved in specified folders on commercially available network attached storage (NAS) devices. The data will be accessible from the RICOH e-Sharing Box without being copied onto the HDD of the RICOH e-Sharing Box.

When the NAS device is recognized, it appears in the list as shown below. The folder can be accessed using this Share Name. Folder structure Folders of NAS devices are created under the “4.NAS” folder. This folder appears only when you access the RICOH e-Sharing Box using a smart device or an MFP.

Checking Connection from a Client Computer • As a client computer, Windows XP and later/Internet Explorer 8 and 9 are supported. Under “Network”, double-click the icon of the RICOH e-Sharing Box and confirm that the Web UI starts. It may take up to 30 minutes until it starts.
Start DocsConnect and check if files and folders can be viewed. • The number of smart devices that can be registered to the RICOH e-Sharing Box is 50. If 50 devices are already registered, no more devices can be newly registered.

Click OK. When shutdown is completed successfully, the message “The setting process was successful.” appears. Before you begin disassembling the machine/replacing parts, confirm that the RICOH e- Sharing Box has turned off by checking that the machine LEDs are unlit and the fan has stopped.
• Borrow the key for the HDD cartridge from the customer beforehand. • When turning off the RICOH e-Sharing Box, do not keep the power button pushed for a long time. If the power button is kept pushed for 3 seconds or longer, a forced shutdown starts.

4. Replacement and Adjustment The HDD duplication process starts. The Status LED lights green and the HDD LED flashes green. The machine can be used before duplication is complete. • Inform the customer that the machine can be used before duplication is complete. Normally, the duplication process takes about 3 to 4 hours.
Shut down the RICOH e-Sharing Box (see page 97 "Shutdown Procedure"). Disconnect any peripheral devices connected to the RICOH e-Sharing Box. Remove the protective sheet [A] from the old RICOH e-Sharing Box and pull out the serial number decal [B] from the holder.
