Overview of messages and symbols

Convention
In this section, "message" is used as a generic term for all information that is shown on the
display. In particular, messages include the following:
● Alarm messages
● Error messages
● Status information
Display behavior on local user interface
Messages are shown in the measurement view.
The display shows an active alarm as a combination of symbols and text. The symbol
displays the type and severity of the alarm. The symbol for the most serious alarm will flash.
The following picture shows an example of how the device outputs messages:
If more than one alarm is active simultaneously in automatic mode, the associated symbols
and texts are displayed alternately. The manual mode symbol is displayed in manual mode
and in the "not initialized" state.
Characteristics of messages
The following table summarizes the possible types of messages in an overview. The number
of dots assigned to the symbol defines the importance level of the message. The symbols
are presented in the order of priority of the messages, starting with the most serious.
