Use the scale on the Plastigage envelop to mea-
sure the Plastigage on the crankpin at its widest
point.
If the measurement exceeds the service limit,
replace the connecting rod bearing.

Crankshaft
Use a dial gauge to measure the center journal
runout.
The service limit for crankshaft center journal
runout is 0.002 in. (0.04 mm). If the measurement
exceeds the service limit, replace the crankshaft.
PISTON, CYLINDER, AND CRANKSHAFT
Assemble the crankshaft thrust bearing, the
crankshaft journal bearing, the crankshaft, and the
crankcase to the cylinder block.
Apply engine oil to 16 crankcase bolts, then place
the bolts in the bolt holes. Tighten the bolts to the
specified torque.
