    FCC Certification Information…..23 Introduction Congratulations on your purchase of the ZuniConnect ZR301 Wireless Router. Before installing and using this innovative product, please read this user’s guide thoroughly, and retain it for future use. This user’s guide will explain how to setup and use the router.

    Product Overview This sleek yet powerful unit lets you create a secure wireless network whenever a wired Broadband connection is available. You can switch modes and use the ZR301 to extend an existing WiFi signal, or you can again change modes and create a Wireless Bridge/Extender.

    Setup Instructions ROUTER MODE For this mode the ZuniDigital ZR301 uses a wired Broadband connection as the WAN (Internet) connection, to create a new sub-network that can then be shared via Wi-Fi and the LAN port. For the best results do not place the ZR301 near any large metal objects or magnets (like those found in speakers).
  • Page 5 Step 2 - Attach Power Cable If you are using the AC adapter, plug it into a wall socket and plug the power tip into the ZR301’s 5v power port. If you are using a USB cable, you can provide power to the router from any electronic device with a USB port (device must be on to power the router).
  • Page 6 Step 5 – Enter the Setup Wizard Click the “Run Setup Wizard” button on the ZR301 router’s main page, or from the navigation menu on the left side of the web interface. Step 6 - Begin the Setup Wizard To begin the Setup Wizard click the “Next” button. If you wish to exit the Setup Wizard click the “Cancel” button. Step 7 - Configure LAN (Ethernet) Parameters The pre-entered default values should work for most networks, but if they need to be modified you can do so now.
  • Page 7 Step 9 - Configure Basic Wi-Fi Settings Use this page to personalize the name of the wireless network (SSID) to be broadcast by the ZuniDigital ZR301. This name will be broadcast so that your WiFi devices can log onto your network. If desired, changes can be made to these settings, but it is recommended that only experienced users do so.
  • Page 8 Step 10 - Apply Wi-Fi Network Security Settings By default, the ZuniDigital ZR301 broadcasts as an OPEN network with no data encryption. If you wish to enable network encryption to help secure your network, please select the encryption type you want to use, establish a password that you can remember, and then click the “Finished”...

    For best performance, we recommend setting up the ZuniConnectZR301 close to where you intend to use it. For the best results do not place the ZuniDigital ZR301 near any large metal objects or magnets (like those found in speakers). Also note that elevating the ZR301 from the floor will increase wireless broadcast signal performance and range.

  • Page 11 Step 7 – Enter Setup Wizard The ZR301 will automatically scan for available wireless networks in range. Step 8 – Select Wireless Network Select the wireless network that you want the ZR301 to utilize from the list, and then click the CONNECT button. If the desired wireless network is not listed, verify that it is operational and click the REFRESH button.
  • Page 12 Step 9 – Apply Security Settings If the selected wireless network uses data encryption, you will be required to enter a Pre-Shared Key (password) in order to connect the wireless bridge to the existing wireless network. If prompted, please key in the network’s password and click the NEXT button.
  • Page 13 Step 11 – Initializing Wireless Connection The wireless extender is now connecting to the selected wireless network. Once this has completed, press the NEXT button to finalize and save your settings. Step 12 – Finalizing Wireless Connection The ZR301 will automatically finalize the connection to the selected wireless network and save the settings. Please wait for this process to complete (can take up to 3 minutes).

Step 3 - Access Web Configuration From your computer, open a Web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc.) then type 192.168.11.1 into the address bar and press the ENTER key.

  • Page 17 Step 8 - Connection Results If the password was accepted by the wireless network, you will get a “connection successful” message. If this is the case, continue to the next step. If you get a “connection un-successful” message, click the “Back” button to restart the Setup Wizard and verify you have selected the correct WiFi network and that the password you are using is correct.
  • Page 18 This step lets you configure the router to utilize the specific type of broadband signal provided by your Internet provider. The majority of providers use DHCP which is the default setting of the ZuniDigital ZR301. This setting should work in most locations, but if you have any questions on which setting to use, please contact your Internet Service Provider or the local network administrator.
