QUICK START INSTRUCTIONS

This is a NTEP Certified scale, certified to applicable requirements of NIST Handbook 44. State
weights and measures jurisdictions have adopted Handbook 44. This scale meets all
requirements of NIST Handbook 44 and is deemed to be suitable for "legal for trade" or
commercial applications. For professional inspection, please contact your distributor for local
information.
1. Press the ON/OFF button to turn the scale on.
2. Wait until "0.0" and "ZERO" appear on the left side of the remote display.
3. Ask the person to be weighed to step onto the scale and to stand still—the person's
weight will be displayed.
Notes: The scale will always default to the setting last used (lb or kg), when it is turned on.
Weight of the person is displayed in real time, meaning that the weight shown on the display may
fluctuate if that person is not standing still while on the scale.
1. Obtain a weight, as explained above.
2. Press the BMI button on the keypad—the scale will prompt you to enter the person's height.
Use the arrow keys to select the correct height (default starts at 5 feet, 6 inches / 168cm).
3. Once the correct height is selected, press the ENTER button—the display will show the
person's BMI.
Note: Body Mass Index is another name for Quetelet Index, a formula that is a convenient and
reliable indicator of obesity.
