Installing the switch The HP 1910 switch can be installed in a 19-inch rack or on a workbench. WARNING! Before installing or moving the switch, remove the power cord. IMPORTANT: Ensure good ventilation and 10 cm (3.9 in) of clearance around the chassis for heat dissipation. • Avoid placing heavy objects on the switch. • To mount the switch on a workbench: Check that the workbench is sturdy and well grounded. Place the switch with bottom up, and clean the round holes in the chassis bottom with dry cloth. -

Connection procedure To connect a terminal, for example, a PC, to the switch: Plug the DB-9 female connector of the console cable to the serial port of the PC. Connect the RJ-45 connector to the console port of the switch.
