CAUTIONS AND WARNINGS Intended use The Health o meter® Professional 549KL and 549KG scales were intended to be used in a professional medical environment by trained medical staff. This product was designed to weigh infants that are laying or sitting on the tray. Do not modify the product or use it for anything other than its intended purpose.
In addition, each scale is designed to provide the user with features that make the weighing process simple, fast, and convenient. Note: If the scale does not return to zero when you remove the object and baby from the tray, press the ON/TARE/OFF button to return the scale to zero. LB/KG Lock (549KL ONLY) The weight measuring unit can be locked to only measure in LB or KG.
Underside of scale Battery cover ® 2. Replace or install a new 9V battery. Health o meter Professional recommends using an alkaline or lithium battery, rated for 130°F (54°C) operation. Do not use zinc-carbon batteries. Reattach the battery compartment door.
This scale has been factory calibrated, and does not require calibration prior to use. If required, the scale can be calibrated. For model 549KL, calibration is performed in either pounds or kilograms. In LB mode, 40 pounds are required for calibration, applied in 10 lb and 20 lb increments. In KG mode, 20 kilograms are required for calibration, applied in 5 kg and 10 kg increments.
CALIBRATION – 549KG Note: Only scale models with a date code of 4317 or greater can be calibrated. This scale has been factory calibrated, and does not require calibration prior to use. If required, the scale can be calibrated. Calibration is performed using kilograms (KG). 20 kilograms are required for calibration, applied in 5 kg and 10 kg increments.
