Oil pump suction tube screen
plugged.
Engine bearings worn.
Oil pressure gauge defective.
Internal oil leak.
Cracked crankcase cover casting,
defective oil pump, leaking suction
tube.
High oil
Low oil supply.
temperature
Dirty or diluted oil.
Prolonged ground operation at
high speed.
Excessive rate of climb.
Lean fuel-air mixture.

REMEDY
Replenish.
Drain sump. Refill with correct grade.
Remove and clean.
Clean plunger and seat. Replace
dirty oil.
Overhaul engine. Refinish valve
seat.
Remove cap and plunger. Clean
parts.
Remove sump. Clean screen.
Overhaul engine.
Test gauge, and replace or repair.
Overhaul engine.
Overhaul engine. Replace damaged
parts.
Replenish.
Drain sump, and fill with fresh oil of
proper grade.
Avoid prolonged running on the
ground.
Avoid low air speed.

overhaul manual.
