Before removing the fan, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.

Remove the fan:
1. Disconnect the fan cable (1) from the system board.
2. Release the shielding material (2) until the fan is accessible.
3. Remove the two Phillips PM2.0×4.2 screws (3) that secure the fan to the keyboard/top cover.
4. Remove the fan (4) by swinging the left side up and away at an angle.
Reverse this procedure to install the fan.
