Before removing the base enclosure, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then
unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the following components:
a. Service door (see
b. Remove the battery (see
c. Hard drive (see
d. Solid-state drive (see
e. WWAN module (see
f. WLAN module (see
g. Optical drive (see
h. Keyboard (see
i. Memory (see
j. Hinge covers (see
Remove the base enclosure:
1. Disconnect the fingerprint reader cable (1), the speaker cable (2), the display cable (3), and the pointing
stick cable (4).
Make special note of each screw and screw lock size and location during removal and
