    General General Read and keep Operating Instructions These Operating Instructions belong to this Wi-Fi repeater. They contain important information about the start-up and handling. Study these Operating Instructions and, in particular the Safety information in detail prior to using the Wi-Fi repeater. Non- observance of these Operating Instructions can lead to damage to the Wi-Fi repeater.

Explanation of symbols The following symbols and signal words are used in these Operating Instructions, on the device or on the packaging. DANGER! These signal words indicate a high-level hazard which could cause death or serious injury if not avoided.

    Safety Safety Correct use The Wi-Fi repeater is designed to only be used as Wi-Fi repeater. Wi-Fi repeater is only suitable for private and not for commercial use. Only use Wi-Fi repeater as described in the operating instructions. Any other use is deemed to be incorrect and can cause material damage.

    Safety Safety information WARNING! Danger of electrocution! Faulty electrical installations or excessive mains voltage can cause electrocution. − Only connect Wi-Fi repeater if the mains voltage of the power point matches the voltage specified on the rating plate. − The 100-240V~ socket used for the Wi-Fi repeater must be freely accessible at all times, so that it can be quickly disconnected from the mains when necessary.
  • Page 15 Safety − Do not operate the Wi-Fi repeater if it is visibly damaged. − Ensure adequate ventilation and do not cover Wi-Fi repeater to prevent overheating. − Do not open housing but have repair carried out by an expert. Contact a specialist workshop. All liability and warranty claims shall be void in case of repairs carried out by users, incorrect connection or improper use.

If the packaging is carelessly opened with a sharp knife or other pointed objects, the Wi-Fi repeater can be easily damaged. − Please open packaging carefully. 1. Remove Wi-Fi repeater from packaging and check whether the equipment or parts are damaged.

    Start Basic cleaning • Remove packaging material and all protective foil. • Prior to using for the first time, clean all parts of the Wi-Fi repeater as described in the section Cleaning. NOTE! Danger of damage! Incorrect use of the Wi-Fi repeater can damage the Wi-Fi repeater.

    The below instructions refer to an installation using the Android App. The display on the iOS App can differ from the shown screen shots. 1. Install the free App “Maginon WiFi repeater” on your Smartphone. 2. Plug the WiFi repeater into a socket close to the router. Ensure that repeater is in repeater mode.

  • Page 25 Installation via App 4. Connect your Smartphone to the open WiFi network of the WiFi repeater. Select option “Connect” (Fig. 2). It can take a few seconds to establish the connection. Then return to App. And confirm connection by selecting “Continue” 5.
  • Page 26 Installation via App 6. Next enter a name (SSID) for the network which will be generated by your repeater after installation for amplification (Fig. 4). Also enter the WiFi key of your home network to be amplified by the repeater. Ensure that you enter the WiFi key correctly.
  • Page 27 Installation via App 7. Confirm input by clicking on “Continue” . (Fig.5) By entering the SSID name of your previous network for the newly generated WiFi network you only have to log on your equipment once. 8. Your entry is transmitted to the repeater.

Check that you can access the Internet from your mobile phone using the new WiFi connection. 11. If no Internet reception is available, please use the reset button of the repeater and restart the installation.

    Set-up Set-up The MAGINON Wi-Fi repeater serves to extend the range of your existing Wi-Fi network. For this purpose, the Wi-Fi repeater is connected to the router of the Wi-Fi by cable or wireless and then carries out the function of transmitter and receiver for other wireless systems.

    Set-up Set up as Wi-Fi repeater In its function as Wi-Fi repeater the device extends the range of your wireless network. To set up the Wi-Fi repeater proceed as follows: 1. Plug Wi-Fi repeater into a mains socket. 2. Switch on repeater by connecting to mains. The Power LED is illuminated.

Enter address http://192.168.10.1 in Browser to set up a connection to the Wi-Fi repeater. If it is not possible to activate the Wi-Fi repeater by entering 192.168.10.1 note the following information.

Now enter the WiFi key (Security key) for the network. Leave other parameters unchanged. Click on “Apply”. The name of the network (SSID) and the network key must correspond to the information saved in the Wi-Fi router.

    4. Click on “Apply“ to accept the settings. Once restarted, the Wi-Fi repeater can be used as Access Point. Once the MAGINON Wi-Fi repeater has been set up, you can connect a computer to the Wi-Fi repeater using the wireless option or network cable.

    Set-up Manually setting up the LAN connection You can connect an individual computer to the Wi-Fi repeater using a network cable. 1. Plug the supplied network cable into the computer and Wi-Fi repeater. 2. To check that the computer is connected to the network click on computer and Start and select System Controls.

    Set-up Security settings In order to configure the Wi-Fi connections select option “Basic Settings” from the “Wireless” menu. Next enter the encryption type and enter the required network key. Only encryption types WEP, WPA and WPA2 are available. These settings depend on the selected operating mode of the Wi-Fi repeater, i.e.

    Set-up From the Settings menu select “Management” and then “Password”. Enter your User name and the new password twice and click on “Apply”.
