POSSIBLECAUSE
The light bulb is loose or defecti~~c. Tightt}nor replzce.
The switch operating the oven light is broken, Cal1tor ~ervicc.
The OVEN SET knob not set at BROIL..
The OVEN TEMP knob not set at BROIL.
Door not left open to the broil stop position as recommended.
Improper shelf position being used. See the Broiling Guide.
Food is being cooked on hot pan.
Cookware not suited for broiling.
Low voltage. See the Broiling section.

The surface units are not plugged in solidly.

Automatic timer dials not set or not set properly.The clock must be set to time
of day and the STOP TINfE dial must be set and advanced beyond the time
noted on the oven clock.
The STOP TIME dial was not advanced for long enough.
Both the OVEN SET and the OVEN TEMP knobs must be set at CI,EAN settings.
When the oven is self-cleaned, a thick pile of spillover can leave a heavy
layer of ash and insulate that area from further heat.
The door latch handle not moved all the way to the right.
Turn the OVEN SET knob to OFF. Allow the oven to cool until the door latch
handle will unlock easily. Restart operation.
Turn the OVEN SET knob to CLEAhl. The glowing oven cleanir.g light after
knob is turned indicates the oven is too hot from previous use and door won't
latch. To cool the oven, open the door wide, and allow the o~en to cool.
After the oven has cooled, close the door and slide the latch handle to the right.
