SUPPLEMENTS-GNS 530
Pilots are NOT authorized to deviate from their current
ATC clearance to comply with terrain/obstacle warnings
from a TERRAIN unit except as allowed by 14 CFR Part
91.3(b). TERRAIN warnings are advisory only and are
not equivalent to warnings provided by a TAWS unit.
The TAWS/ TERRAIN databases have an area of
coverage as detailed below:

The Terrain Database has an area of coverage
from North 75° Latitude to South 60° Latitude in
all longitudes.

Airport Terrain Database has an area of coverage
that includes the United States, Canada, Mexico,
Latin America, and South America.

The Obstacle Database has an area of coverage
that includes the United States.
9.5.3 EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
This aircraft is not certified for IFR operations. The
following procedures are included in this manual for
If GARMIN GNS 530 navigation information is not
available or
navigation equipment as required.
TERRAIN option is installed, it will not be available. A
white 'TER N/A' or red 'TER FAIL' annunciator will be
displayed in the lower left corner of the GNS 530 display.
