RAP 7.53 "OU***" Message Fault

This fault message (sometimes displayed as "SYS ERR OU463 POWER OFF ON") is displayed
because the printer detected that all paper size switches in one or more trays are actuated at the same
time.
1 Switch the printer power off. Remove Trays 1 & 2 for a non-HCF attached printer or Trays 1
through 5 for an HCF attached printer. Inspect the Size Switch Assemblies for trapped paper
causing the switches to be actuated. Paper was found lodged behind tray(s) possibly actuating
switches on Paper Size Switch PWBs.

Go to step 3.
2 Reinstall trays and switch printer power on. Generate a Configuration Sheet from each tray. The
error message reappears.

Problem is fixed.
3 An HCF is installed.
Y

Go to step 5.
4 Switch the printer power off. Disconnect HCF Interface Cable from Printer and switch printer
power on. Generate a Configuration Sheet from both Trays 1 & 2. The error message reappears.

Problem is located in the HCF Option. Go to RAP 8.4.7.12.
5 Switch the printer power off and disconnect power cord. Remove Upper & Lower Rear Covers on
Printer. Reconnect power cord and switch printer power on. Remove Trays 1 & 2 and measure
voltage across P/J461-1 and P/J461-2 (6.3.14). Voltage measured is 4.66VDC +/- 0.05V.

6 Measure voltage across P/J408-A8 and P/J408-A7 (6.3.12). The voltage measured is 4.66VDC
+/- 0.05V.

7 Reinstall Trays 1 & 2 and measure voltage across P/J461-1 and P/J461-2 (6.3.14). The voltage
measured is 0.00VDC +/- 0.05V.

Go to step 9.
8 Replace Tray 1 Size Switch Assembly (REP 4.2.10).
9 Measure voltage across P/J408-A8 and P/J408-A7 (6.3.12). The voltage measured is 0.00VDC
+/- 0.05V.

Replace the Printer Engine Controller PWB (REP 4.10.6).
10 Replace Tray 2 Size Switch Assembly (REP 4.2.10).
