These methods called Limp Home Mode is following;
Stops ETV control
Controls output power by the ignition timing
Restricts throttle position reference value
(*2): D-J Method: When the engine load is light like at idling or low speed, the ECU determines the
injection quantity by calculating from the throttle vacuum (intake air pressure sensor output volt-
age) and engine speed (crankshaft sensor output voltage). This method is called D-J method.
(*3): α-N Method: As the engine speed increases, and the engine load turns middle to heavy, the
ECU determines the injection quantity by calculating from the throttle opening (throttle position
sensor output voltage) and the engine speed. This method is called α-N method.
(*4): Actuator Malfunction Backup Mode: When certain parts (the parts indicated in the table above)
malfunctioned, the ECU set the special failsafe control; fuel cut, fuel quantity correction, ignition
cut, ignition timing correction electric throttle valve specification correction.
*: This depends on the number of stopped cylinders.
