PREPARE DISHWASHER

• The dishwashermust be installed so that drain hoseis no more
than 10 feet in lengthfor properdrainage.
• The dishwashermust be fully enclosedon the top, sides and
back, andmust not support anypart of the enclosure.

DRAIN
REQUIREMENTS
• Followlocalcodesand ordinances.
• Do not exceed10 feet distance to drain.
• Do not connect d rainlinesfrom otherdevicesto the
dishwasherdrain hose.
• Dishwasher mustbeconnected to waste linewith an air gap
(notsupplied) or 32" minimum highdrain loop,depending on
localcodes andordinances t o preventbackflow intothe
dishwasher.
• Air gap must be used if waste tee or disposer c onnectionis
less than 18" abovethe floor to prevent siphoning.
DRAIN PREPARATION
The typeof drain installation dependson answers to the
following questions:
[] Do localcodes or ordinances requireanair gap?
[] Will waste tee or disposerconnection b e lessthan 18"
above the floor?
[] Will installation havea drainlooplessthan 32" above floor?
If the answer to ANY of the 3 questionsaboveisYES,
Method 1 MUST be used. Otherwiseeither Method 1 or
Method 2 may be used.FigureC or FigureD.
CAUTION:
An air gap MUSTBE USEDif the drain hoseisconnectedto
waste tee or disposerlower than 18" abovethe floor.
Failureto providethe proper drain connectionheightwith air gap
or 32" minimum,high drain loop will result in improperdraining
of the dishwasher.

CABINET PREPARATION
• Drilla 1-1/2" dia. hole in the cabinet wall within the shaded
areasshown in FigureA for the drain hoseconnection.The hole
shouldbe smoothwith no sharp edges.
