Piston Pin
1. Lubricate:
o Piston pin (Lightly)
2. Install:
® Piston pin
(into small end of _,onnecting rod)
3. Check:
® Free play
_t_ Free play -* Inspect connecting rod for
wear.
Wear -_ Inspect connecting rod and
piston pin.
4. Position:
® Piston pin
(into piston)
5. Check:
® Free play
When pin is in place in piston.
_ (_____ Free play -+ Replace piston pin and/or
piston.

Starter Gear
1. Inspect:
e Idle gear teeth (_)
® Contacting surfaces with the clutch (_)
Pitting/Wear/Damage -_ Replace.
