7. Include Location in Your Naming Convention

Pages and pop-ups should be named after the location and device they control . For example, if you have two DVD
players and need one pop-up for each, rather than naming the pop-ups DVD 1 and DVD 2, it is clearer to name them
DVD-Classroom101 and DVD-Classroom102 . Adding location information to your naming conventions makes it easier to
differentiate and assign page flip commands to your buttons .

8. Use Master Pages
Items common to most pages and pop-ups in your control system should be placed on a Master Page and Master Pop-
up, respectively . For example, if there is only one volume control needed in a system, it is a good practice to place it on
the Master Page .
