Receiving routine calls

When receiving a DSC call from a coast or ship station, the message will be displayed
immediately on the screen. After that, perform the following procedures as appropriate.
(1) Receiving an individual call

The screen at right is displayed, and the
ALM lamp blinks and the alarm grows
louder gradually.
The example message contains the following
information.

Communication mode: Radiotelephone

Reception frequency: 2177.0 kHz

Press the
CANCEL
the alarm, and the screen at right is
displayed.

If the call can be accepted, select Accept
and press ENT.
The acknowledgement procedure screen as
shown at right is displayed.
After that, the status is shown at Stage. Here
it is checking if the channel is free.
See the following notes for information about
the other items (Unable/NewCH/Cancel) in
the handling menu.

When a free channel is confirmed, the
antenna is tuned, and an acknowledgement
message is sent.
