Stopthe enginebyremoving the ignitionkeyandloosen the plastic wing
knobfoundonthe left sideofthe chuteassembly.
Pivotthe chuteupwardor downwardbefore retighteningthe wingknob.

Auger Control
Priorto operatingyoursnowthrower, carefully readand follow all
instructions b elow. Performall adjustmentsto verifyyoursnowthrower is
operating safelyand properly.
Check t he adjustmentofthe augercontrol a sfollows:
1.
Theaugercontrolislocated on the left handle.SeeFigure 15inset.When
the augercontrolisreleased andinthe disengaged "up"position,the cable
shouldhaveverylittle slack. I tshouldNOT betight.
2.
Ina well-ventilated area,start the snowthrowerengine.Refer t o Starting
the Engine inthe Operation section.
3.
Whilestandinginthe operator's position(behindthe snowthrower), e ngage
the auger.
4.
Allowthe augerto remainengaged for approximately t en (10)seconds
beforereleasing the augercontrol.Repeat t hisseveral times.
5.
With theaugercontrol i n the disengaged " up" position, w alkto the front of
the machine.
6.
Toreadjust t he controlcable,loosen the upperhexbolt onthe augercable
bracket. S eeFigure 15.
Position the bracketupwardto providemoreslack(ordownwardto increase
cabletension).
8.
Retighten the upperhexbolt.
9.
Repeat s teps2-6above to verify proper a djustmenthasbeenachieved.
10.
Confirm that the augerhascompletely stoppedrotatingandshows NOsigns
of motion.Ifthe augershows ANY signsofrotating,immediately returnto
the operator's positionandshut off the engine.WaitforALLmovingpartsto
stopbefore adjustingthe augercontrol.
