7.4.9 Replacing steam pump

• For better access remove lower pump holder (14) with coffee pump and flow meter
first (see "Replacing coffee pump and flow meter" on page 55).
• Remove hose (10) from pump inlet (6).
• Pull fluid connection clip and remove fluid nipple (8) from steam thermoblock (810).
• Remove flat receptacle with gray wire (coming from electronic mainboard) from
pump.
• For better handling pull pump inlet out of pump holder (5).
• Press laterally at the front side of the pump holder to remove it from inner guiding
groove. Then pull it out of outer guiding groove laterally.
• Remove spring clip (9) and reinforced hose (7) from pump outlet.
• Remove pump from pump holder (5).
Assembly checkpoints
• For tightness reason, replace the following parts together with the steam pump:
• Reinforced hose (7)
• 2 spring clips (9)
• Make sure that pump holder is inserted in guiding grooves completely:
• Pre-assemble new pump in pump holder (5) with reinforced hose (7) and spring
clip (9). Do not insert pump inlet in pump holder yet.
• Insert pump holder in outer guiding groove at first.
• With the help of a screwdriver press pump holder into inner guiding groove.
