When sending a distress call, follow the instructions of the ship's captain or officer in charge.

After sending the distress call, wait for an acknowledgement.
When receiving a distress acknowledgement, the screen below is displayed. Unless received the
distress acknowledgement or cancelled the distress call mode manually, this equipment repeats the
distress call sending every 3.5 to 4.5 minutes automatically.

After receiving the distress acknowledgement, lift the handset and request rescue
using CH16 of the radiotelephone.
First, the responding station will call by the radiotelephone, then acknowledge the receipt as follows.
