In the Windows 95 operating system access the Battery Meter via Start
from the desktop, select Settings, select Control Panel and then the Power
icon. This will show you the total power remaining. click the show
battery meter on taskbar to have easy access to this information from the
taskbar.

In the Windows NT operating system access the battery status via
slide to the Programs group, then slide to PowerProfiler for Windows NT.
Press the VersaGlide selection button or tap the VersaGlide pad once. the
main PowerProfiler screen appears.
Select the Battery tab and add the battery meter to the taskbar.
When to Change the Battery
The following symptoms indicate that battery life is nearing an end. Replace
batteries that display these symptoms.

Shorter work times.
n
Discolouration, warping.
n
Hot to the touch.
n
Strange odour.
Battery Handling
Keep the following in mind when removing or replacing a battery.
n
Use only the battery designed for your system in the Versa SX. Mixing
other manufacturer's batteries, or using a combination of very old and
new batteries can deteriorate battery and equipment performance.
n
Turn off power to the system after use. Keeping system power on can
degrade battery performance and shorten battery life.
n
Clean the battery terminals with a dry cloth and be careful not to bend
terminals.

Keep the battery out of the reach of children.
2-6 System Configuration and Setup
At "Alarm Action" indicate whether to display a warning when the
battery is low or very low, and whether to suspend the system when
the battery is very low.
At the right you can decide whether to display a battery meter in the
task bar. You can view a graphic of current battery status.
At "Battery Status and Alarm Settings" you can view status battery by
battery or for all batteries together. You can define "low" and "very
low" battery status.
