ABS CONTROL UNIT/HU
REMOVAL

When storing the brake fluid, seal the container completely and keep away from children.
$
* This brake system is filled with an ethylene glycol-based DOT 4 brake fluid. Do not mix differ-
ent types of fluid such as silicone-based or petroleum-based.
* Do not use any brake fluid taken from old, used or unsealed containers. Never reuse brake
fluid left over from the last servicing or stored for long periods.
* Handle brake fluid with care: the fluid reacts chemically with paint, plastics, rubber materials
etc. and will damage then severely.
* The ABS is made up of many precision parts; never subject it to strong impacts or allow it to
become dirty or dusty.
* The ABS control unit/HU cannot be disassembled.
• Remove the seat. (!GSF1200K6/SK6 9D-5)
• Remove the battery. (!GSF1200K6/SK6 1J-15)
• Remove the starter relay 1 from the battery case 2.
• Remove the battery case 2.
• Drain the brake fluid. (!GSF1200K6/SK6 4A-6)
• Loosen the flare nuts 3 and disconnect the brake pipes.
• Disconnect the ABS control unit coupler 4.
