Align the left riser blank with the corresponding slot on the back of the chassis.

Press down and slide the blank to the right to lock it in place and replace the PCI retention rocker.

Removing The Right Expansion Card Riser Blank

1.
Locate the right riser blank.
2.
Lift the riser blank up and away from the system and remove the PCI retention rocker.
To install the riser blank, align the blank with the blank guide on the chassis and press down until firm. Replace the PCI
retention rocker on the chassis rear wall.

Removing An Expansion Card From Expansion-Card Risers 2 and 3

Turn off the system, including any attached peripherals, and disconnect the system from the electrical outlet and
peripherals.
2.
Open the system.
3.
Disconnect any cables connected to the expansion card.
4.
Remove the expansion-card riser cage by sliding the black handle in the direction of the blue arrows and then
lifting the riser straight up.
5.
Remove the expansion-card latch holding the expansion-card.
6.
Remove the expansion card from the expansion-card riser.
7.
If you are removing the card permanently, install a metal filler bracket over the empty expansion slot opening and
insert the expansion-card latch.
NOTE: You must install a filler bracket over an empty expansion slot to maintain Federal Communications
Commission (FCC) certification of the system. The brackets also keep dust and dirt out of the system and aid
in proper cooling and airflow inside the system.
8.
Reinstall the expansion-card riser.
9.
Close the system.
10. Reconnect the system to its electrical outlet and turn the system on, including any attached peripherals.
