"Child-protection" rear doors

Child protection helps prevent the rear doors from
being opened accidentally from the inside.
If the lever is set to the locked position, the rear
door cannot be opened using the inside handle, but
only with the outside handle.
If the lever is set to the "Unlock" position, the
child protection mechanism does not function.
CAUTION
l
When driving with a child in the rear
seat, please use the child protection to pre-
vent accidental door opening which may
cause an accident.

Trunk lid

The trunk cannot be opened from the in-
side. Be careful not to allow children to
get inside the trunk. If a child got trap-
ped inside the trunk, a serious accident
could result.
l
It can be dangerous to drive with the
trunk lid open since carbon monoxide
(CO) gas can enter the cabin. You cannot
see or smell CO. It can cause unconscious-
ness and even death.
CAUTION
l
Do not stand behind the exhaust pipe
when loading and unloading luggage. A
heat from the exhaust could lead to burns.
l
Do not place tools or other items in the
battery (A) space inside the trunk. They
could knock the battery and damage it
during vehicle operation.

To open
Operation from inside the vehicle (LHD vehicles)
Pull the release lever located beside the driver's seat.
Operation from inside the vehicle (RHD vehicles)
1. Bring the vehicle to a complete stop.
